If you still do not have Play Store installed on your smartphone, have a look on our website, as we have plenty of posts and tutorials about how to download and install the Play Store Download on various devices – from the most basic Android devices to BlackBerrys.
Before we start, it is always good to remember that Play Store Google tests the applications on their own store, so you don’t need to be worried about getting a dangerous app from the suite since all of the apps offered pass through an intense test and anti-virus scans.
We can now begin. Let’s start from the basics.
Searching for an application
- Go to your device menu and select the Google Play Store icon by tapping on it.
- To search for an app, tap on the magnifying glass. Your keyboard will then appear and you can type the name of the app you want. Once you find it, tap on it.
- The application page will open. As soon as the page opens, there is the button “Install” in case you already know the app and just want to install it.
Roll the screen down and a description appears, as well as some screenshots of the app, how it works and, and the rating by the users.
Don’t be surprised if globally known apps such as Facebook and Whatsapp don’t get the perfect score. Some people experience bugs and errors. Consequently, their rating will be lower than the average.
Installing an application
If you found an app that you liked and want to install it on your device, just click on “Install”. A dialog box with the permissions the app needs to properly function will be shown. You can either agree with them or cancel the install.
Be careful: some apps include in-app costs that charges the account logged in.
If you agreed with the terms and permissions previously shown, Play Store will start the app download to; just then; install it on your phone. This process can take a while depending on the size of the app your download. Apps bigger than 200 Mb offer the option to download it only when the device is connected to a Wifi signal.
After the process is complete, your device will show a notification on the upper tab of the device, saying the installation is complete and you can use the application.
Switching between apps inside the Play Store
If you want to switch between the suite apps (for example, switching from Google Play Store to Google Play Books), slide the screen with your finger to the right. The side bar will appear with the names of the other apps. Click on the name of the one you want to open and the apps will switch between themselves. If you made a mistake, simply go back and click on the right one.
Uninstalling an app
If, by whatever reason, you want to uninstall an application while inside the go to Play Store, go to the search bar and type the name of the app. Then, find the app you have installed on your device (easiest way is by looking the icons) and tap on it.
The first app screen mentioned above is the same, with just one little difference: where once was an “Install” button, now there’s an “Open” button. And on its side, a button named “Uninstall”. Click on it and the app will be uninstalled from your device. Every trace of the app will be deleted from you smartphone/tablet.
However, if there was any kind of data saved inside the app, this data will be stored at/by Google Play, so, if you decide to reinstall the app again, you can continue from where you left.
These are the main functions of the Play Store Google. Give it a try and explore a bit. We are sure you will be surprised by the amount of things you can do inside this huge app suite.
Don’t forget: if you liked this post, share it with your friends so they can know better the app and enjoy it even more.
